A hot topic has always been people wanting to know how to mask my ip address.  Masking your IP address online is much easier than you may think.  If you want to change your IP and hide your true identity online, then the best way to do this is through a proxy server.  Be careful as not all proxies are the same and some won't allow you to change your IP and aren't anonymous.

To find a proxy server that lets you change your IP you'll have to visit one of the many sites on the internet that lets you examine the IP you are currently using on the internet.  If the proxy server you are using allows you to change your IP, then it should show a different IP and not your home computer IP.  If you see the same IP as your home computer, then you are using a proxy server that isn't anonymous and is in fact transparent.  These kinds of proxies offer no anonymity at all and are not safe to use if you want to remain anonymous online.
