Transparent Proxy - Why Transparent Proxies Are Dangerous

Using a transparent proxy online is extremely dangerous for anyone who is serious about hiding their IP and identity via a proxy.  There are many different kinds of proxies available.  Of them all, transparent proxies are the worst.  They offer no anonymity and you run the risk of revealing your true IP to any website you attempt to access via one.

Proxy servers should be able to provide their users with some kind of anonymity.  The best kind of proxies offer 100% anonymity.  These levels of anonymity are typically found in elite proxy servers.  However, transparent proxies offer absolutely no anonymity at all.  Even though they are still proxy servers, they do not mask, change or alter any of the information coming into and out of them.  What this means is that your home computer IP is actually passed along by the transparent proxy to the website you are accessing.  The website being accessed can see your home computer IP and knows exactly who and where you are.  Transparent proxies are in no way anonymous.

To avoid revealing your IP online via a transparent proxy, make sure you check the level of anonymity that a proxy server offers.  You can do this by visiting any website that shows your IP online and can provide feedback on how you are connected to the internet.  These websites will allow you to quickly see if your IP has in fact changed and how anonymous you are.  If you see that your home computer IP is still being shown even after connecting to the proxy server, then there is a very good chance that the proxy you are using is a transparent proxy.

To remain truly anonymous and hide your IP online, you need a proxy server that can provide 100% anonymity.  The best kind of proxies for this are elite proxies.
